- Honda CB500X (2019–2023)
Installation Overview
Inner Spacer:
- Confirm the bore is clean and that the axle passes through freely.
- Inspect both ends for burrs or damage. The spacer edges must be square to seat properly.
- The spacer should be the same length or slightly longer than the bearing stops within the hub to ensure proper preload.
Wheel Hub:
- Clean the hub thoroughly, removing dirt and corrosion without altering the metal surface. Proper bearing seating depends on an undamaged bore.
Outer Wheel Spacers:
- Clean and inspect for signs of wear, especially at seal contact points.
- Replace spacers if they show significant wear or compromise the seal.
Bearing Installation Notes:
- Slightly heating the wheel hub will allow for easier installation by expanding the metal.
- Always press the bearing into place using the outer race only.
- Improper installation can lead to premature bearing wear or failure.
