Pre-Installation Inspection and Preparation:-

1. Inner Spacer

• Inspect the inner spacer to ensure it is straight, undamaged, and clean.

• Check that the axle passes through it freely and that both ends are square and free from burrs.

• The spacer must be the same length or slightly longer than the distance between the bearing stops in the hub. An undersized spacer can lead to excessive side loading on the bearings, which may result in premature failure.

2. Wheel Hub

• Clean the hub bore thoroughly, removing any dirt, corrosion, or old grease.

• Avoid removing any metal, as this can lead to a loose bearing fit and reduce performance and safety.

3. Outer Wheel Spacers

• Inspect the outer spacers for surface wear, particularly where they contact the bearing seals.

• Replace any spacers that show significant wear or damage to maintain proper seal function and bearing alignment.

Bearing Installation Guidelines:-

• Always use the correct tools, such as a bearing press or driver, to install bearings. Never strike the bearing directly with a hammer or punch.

• Warming the hub slightly (using a heat gun or warm water) can expand the bore slightly and ease installation.

• Ensure the bearing is fully seated against the hub’s internal stop and rotates freely without side pressure.
