The Barkbusters Two Point Mount – Handguard Protector is an Australian-made handguard backbone system specifically designed for the Ducati Multistrada 1200 from 2010 to 2014 with OEM specifications. Featuring a secure two-point mounting system, the heat-treated aluminum backbone provides added strength and impact protection while seamlessly integrating around the original Ducati handguard and controls.

Compatibility

Important Fitting Procedure

• Remove the original Ducati handlebar end caps.
• Installation is shown for the right side. Repeat the procedure for the left side using the applicable parts.
• Loosely assemble the clamp to the handlebar as shown in the fitting diagram.
• Attach the handguard backbone with the applicable parts to the handlebar end and the clamp.
• Tighten all bolts using the recommended torque specifications provided in the fitting instructions.
• Tighten bolt (9) into the handlebar end.
• Tighten bolt (2) through the aluminum bar (1) to the clamp connector (7) of the clamp assembly.
• Tighten bolt (5) to securely lock the clamp connector (7) between the clamp saddles (3).
• Tighten bolt (4) to firmly secure the clamp assembly to the handlebar.

Note: The clamp is designed to allow the nut on bolt (5) to pull into the recessed hole. This eliminates the need for a wrench after the bolt starts to tighten.

Important Note

The Barkbusters Lever Guard is designed to be mounted in conjunction with the original Ducati plastic handguards. When mounted correctly, the indicators should not be obscured.

Warning

Check the operation of all handlebar controls, specifically the throttle, front brake, kill switch, and clutch, to ensure they are operating correctly and according to OEM specifications. Do not ride the motorcycle if any controls are not operating correctly.

Check periodically that all bolts remain properly tightened.

Caution

Installation of the handguard is safety-relevant work and can be complicated. We recommend that installation be performed by a qualified motorcycle service technician.

Rideworx accepts no liability for damages caused by improper mounting. All screws, bolts, and nuts, including all replacement hardware provided by Rideworx, should be tightened to the torque specified in the fitting instructions.

After the first 50 km of riding, check that all screws, bolts, and nuts are tightened to the correct torque. A medium-strength liquid thread-locking product is recommended on all fasteners.
