How can I improve my sound quality?

Sound quality is best when the speakers are positioned directly opposite your ear canals. With the helmet on, identify the position of your ears and position the speakers as close to your ears as possible. If necessary, use the included Velcro booster pads behind the speakers to bring them closer to your ears.

Since every rider's head and helmet are different, the helmet's ear cavities may not always provide the optimal speaker position. In such cases, position the speakers directly opposite your ears.

Can I use my unit in the rain?

Yes. The PACKTALK EDGE is waterproof and designed to keep you connected while riding in rainy and challenging weather conditions.

How long does it take to charge my unit?

Fast Charging provides up to 2 hours of talk time after only 20 minutes of charging. A full charge takes up to 2 hours.

How can I get more run-time out of my battery?

The Cardo unit supports charging while riding. You can connect the unit to a power bank or motorcycle power source and continue using it beyond the standard battery runtime.

Can I replace the battery in my unit?

Do not attempt to disassemble or replace the battery yourself. Doing so may damage the waterproof capability of the unit. If the battery is not holding a charge, connect the unit to its charger for at least 4 hours and, if necessary, try a different wall charger and USB cable. If the problem continues, contact support.

The unit does not seem to be charging or the battery does not last as long as it should. What should I do?

Connect the unit to the charger and leave it charging for at least 4 hours. If this does not resolve the issue, try a different wall charger and USB cable. If the unit still does not charge or hold a charge, contact support.

Do not open or disassemble the unit, as this can compromise its waterproof capability. Cardo does not recommend replacing internal parts yourself because of the risk of water, dirt, and general electronics damage.

How do I make sure that my unit's battery lasts as long as possible?

Do not leave the unit unused or in storage for more than 3 months without charging. It is recommended to charge the unit for a full 4 hours at least once every 3 months to help maintain battery performance.

Which mobile app do I need to download?

You need the Cardo Connect App. The app allows you to configure your unit, control functions from your smartphone, and perform over-the-air software updates.

Does the PACKTALK EDGE connect to other generations of Cardo units?

Yes. Cardo communication systems can connect with other Cardo units through universal Bluetooth connectivity. Compatibility and available features may vary depending on the Cardo generation and pairing method.

How do I pair to a non-Cardo headset using universal connectivity?

Start intercom pairing on your Cardo unit according to the pocket guide or user manual. On the other headset, start mobile phone pairing and wait for the pairing process to complete.

Can I listen to music and be part of the intercom at the same time?

Yes. Intercom and music streaming can be active at the same time. When someone in the intercom network speaks, the Cardo unit automatically lowers the music volume so you can hear the conversation.

Something stopped working on my unit. What should I do?

Before trying anything else, Cardo recommends resetting the unit to factory settings. Press the Intercom/Mobile, Volume Up, and Volume Down buttons together for at least 5 seconds until the LED starts flashing purple and the unit turns off. Then turn the unit back on.

Why can't I get the full range of intercom out of my unit?

The stated range has been tested under optimal conditions. Actual range may be affected by obstacles and environmental conditions such as mountains, trees, power lines, topography, riding environment, and line of sight.

Are there limitations in using the music sharing feature?

Music sharing is possible between FREECOM X and SPIRIT units, but it is not possible to share music with other generations of Cardo units.

Is it possible to use it with my own earbuds or speakers?

You can connect your preferred earbuds or aftermarket speakers through the 3.5mm jack connection.

Do I need a phone to operate my unit?

The intercom and radio features are phone independent. A phone or another Bluetooth media player is required for music streaming, and a phone is required to make and receive calls.
