The DENALI Trigger Wizard is a simple wiring adapter designed to convert a ground-switched vehicle high beam signal into a traditional 12V high beam signal. This allows compatible DENALI driving lights to recognize the factory high beam switch and automatically change intensity when the high beam is activated.

What Is Ground Switching?

Ground switching is a configuration where the high beam switch operates on the ground side of the headlight circuit instead of the power side. Traditional power-side switched high beam circuits typically measure 0 volts when the high beam is off and 12V or more when the high beam is on.

Ground-switched high beam circuits work in the opposite manner. The high beam wire may measure 12V or more when the high beam is off and drop below 1V when the high beam is switched on. The Trigger Wizard reverses this signal so it can properly activate DENALI lighting and dimming functions.

How to Determine if You Need the Trigger Wizard

Use a voltmeter to measure the voltage on the vehicle's high beam wire while switching the factory high beam on and off. If the voltage drops from approximately 12V or more to below 1V when the high beam is activated, the vehicle has a ground-switched high beam circuit and the Trigger Wizard is required for the described DENALI high beam trigger functionality.

Installation

Connect the white and blue ends of the Trigger Wizard to the color-coded trigger wires on the DENALI wiring harness. Then connect the black lead to the vehicle high beam wire and the white lead to a switched power wire.

Important Information

Not all LED headlights use a ground-switched high beam circuit. This is a universal product with several confirmed applications, and additional vehicle applications may be possible. Always verify the vehicle's high beam switching configuration before installation and refer to the instruction manual for vehicle-specific wiring information.
