Installation Instructions
Follow the installation procedure carefully to ensure correct clutch operation and safe riding. Professional installation is recommended if you are unsure about cable routing or clutch adjustment.
- Detach OEM Cable: Disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch lever. Loosen the cable at the engine yoke using the lock nut to release cable tension.
- Prepare Easy Clutch Housing: Unscrew the housing to access the internal components and remove the fulcrum assembly.
- Connect OEM Cable: Insert the OEM cable into the right-side adjuster and securely seat the cable head into the fulcrum.
- Connect Pro-Spec Short Cable: Thread the short cable into the left side of the housing and insert its cable head into the fulcrum.
- Connect to Clutch Lever: Connect the other end of the short cable to the clutch lever and secure the dust boot.
- Reassemble Housing: Reassemble the housing using the supplied screws and washers.
- Adjust Release Point: Set the clutch release point to approximately 50% of clutch lever travel using the adjusters on either side of the housing.
Clutch Adjustment Guidelines
- If the clutch release point is below 40%, thread the adjuster outward.
- If the clutch release point is beyond 60%, thread the adjuster inward.
- For additional fine-tuning, use the OEM cable adjuster at the engine end.
- Adjusting in the specified direction can move the release point closer to or further away from the grip.
Important Information
- Ensure there is appropriate clutch lever free play for proper clutch disengagement and engagement.
- Excessive free play may prevent the clutch from fully disengaging, making gear shifts and neutral selection difficult.
- Insufficient free play may cause clutch slip, reduced performance and premature clutch wear.
- Lubricate the OEM clutch cable using WD-40 or a recommended cable lubricant to help maintain smooth operation.
- Always test clutch operation thoroughly after installation and adjustment before riding.
Correct installation and clutch adjustment are essential for safe operation and optimal performance. If you are unsure about the installation or adjustment procedure, seek professional assistance.
