Installation Instructions
Follow the installation procedure carefully for proper clutch operation. Professional installation is recommended if you are unsure about cable routing or clutch adjustment.
- Disconnect OE Cable: Detach the OE clutch cable head from the clutch lever.
- Release Cable Tension: If required, loosen the lock nut at the engine yoke to release the cable.
- Open Easy Clutch Housing: Remove the Allen screws and open the aluminum housing.
- Remove Fulcrum: Remove the fulcrum from the housing.
- Connect OE Cable: Insert the OE clutch cable into the adjuster and securely position the cable head in the fulcrum.
- Install Short Cable: Thread the Pro-Spec short cable into the left side of the housing and secure its cable head into the fulcrum.
- Connect Clutch Lever: Connect the opposite end of the Pro-Spec cable to the clutch lever and slide the dust boot over the joint.
- Reassemble Housing: Secure the aluminum housing using the supplied Allen screws.
Clutch Lever Adjustment
Set the clutch release point at approximately 50% of the clutch lever's range of motion to help achieve smooth clutch operation and gear shifting.
- If the release point is below 40%, thread out the adjuster on either side of the Easy Clutch.
- If the release point is above 60%, thread in the adjuster to bring the release point closer to the desired position.
- For additional fine-tuning, adjust the cable at the engine-side yoke.
- The specified adjustment positions can move the clutch release point closer to or further away from the handlebar.
Maintenance & Safety Information
- Ensure the clutch lever has the correct amount of free play before riding.
- Excessive free play may prevent the clutch from disengaging properly and can cause gear-shifting or neutral-selection difficulties.
- Insufficient free play may cause clutch slip, reduced performance and premature clutch wear.
- Lubricate the OE clutch cable thoroughly using WD-40 or a compatible cable lubricant before installation.
- Always check clutch operation and release point after installation and adjustment.
Important Disclaimer
Improper installation or incorrect adjustment may result in clutch malfunction, gear engagement issues or premature component wear. Always follow the installation and adjustment instructions carefully and verify proper clutch operation before riding.
