Installation Instructions
Follow the installation procedure carefully to ensure proper clutch operation. Professional installation is recommended if you are unsure about cable routing or clutch adjustment.
- Remove OE Cable: Disconnect the OE clutch cable head from the clutch lever.
- Release Cable Tension: Loosen the adjuster and lock nut near the engine to facilitate cable removal.
- Open Easy Clutch Housing: Remove the supplied Allen screws and open the aluminum housing.
- Remove Fulcrum: Remove the fulcrum from the housing.
- Connect OE Cable: Insert the OE clutch cable into the adjuster and securely seat the cable head into the fulcrum.
- Install Pro-Spec Cable: Insert the short cable into the left side of the housing and secure its cable head in the fulcrum.
- Connect Clutch Lever: Attach the other end of the short cable to the clutch lever and install the dust boot over the lever fitting.
Clutch Adjustment
Set the clutch release point at approximately 50% of the clutch lever movement for proper clutch engagement and disengagement.
- If the release point is below 40%, thread out the adjuster on either side of the Easy Clutch.
- If the release point is beyond 60%, thread in the adjuster.
- For additional fine-tuning, use the engine-side cable adjustment.
- Adjustment position “a” moves the release point closer to the grip.
- Adjustment position “b” moves the release point further away from the grip.
Maintenance & Safety Information
- Ensure adequate clutch lever free play after installation and adjustment.
- Excessive free play may prevent the clutch from fully disengaging, potentially causing hard shifting or missed gears.
- Insufficient free play may cause clutch slip, reduced performance and premature clutch wear.
- Lubricate the OE clutch cable using WD-40 or an equivalent cable lubricant during installation.
- Always test clutch operation thoroughly before riding.
Important Disclaimer
Improper installation or incorrect adjustment can result in clutch performance issues, gear-shifting difficulties or accelerated component wear. Follow the installation and adjustment instructions carefully and verify proper clutch operation before riding.
