Installation Instructions
Important: Lubricate the OEM clutch cable using WD-40 or a suitable cable lubricant before installation to help ensure smooth cable operation.
- Remove the OEM Clutch Cable: Disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch lever.
- Loosen the lock nuts at the engine yoke and remove the cable head from the engine-side mounting point.
- Install the Easy Clutch: Insert the 2B cable into the engine-side mount by reversing the cable removal procedure.
- Loosen the lock nuts sufficiently to provide maximum cable slack during installation.
- Route the Easy Clutch cable through a smooth and unobstructed path, avoiding sharp bends or interference with other components.
- Insert the 2A cable head into the clutch lever by reversing the removal procedure.
- Check the complete cable routing and ensure smooth clutch lever movement before adjustment.
Clutch Release Point Adjustment
For proper clutch operation, adjust the clutch release point to approximately 50% of the clutch lever travel.
- Release point below 40%: Thread out the adjuster on either side of the Easy Clutch housing until the desired release point is achieved.
- Release point above 60%: Thread in the adjuster on either side of the Easy Clutch housing until the desired release point is achieved.
- Further adjustment: Fine-tune the cable using the engine-side adjuster if additional adjustment is required.
- Adjustment “a”: Brings the clutch release point closer to the grip.
- Adjustment “b”: Moves the clutch release point farther away from the grip.
Clutch Free Play & Safety
- Excessive free play may prevent the clutch from fully disengaging, resulting in difficult gear shifts, difficulty selecting neutral and an early clutch release point.
- Insufficient free play may prevent the clutch from fully engaging, potentially causing clutch slippage, reduced performance and premature clutch wear.
- Always check and adjust the clutch free play after installation.
- Ensure the clutch operates smoothly before riding the motorcycle.
- Always test the clutch and gear engagement in a safe area after installation and adjustment.
