Why do bikers need a saddle bag

Bikers need lots of goods during their touring venture. They need to carry basic tools, camping tents, tripods, flash light, laptops to name a few. For long road trips, you should have lots of jeans and clothes. Saddle bags or panniers are the only place where you can put such heavy loads without creating any problem.
